“The disciples came to him and asked, ‘Why do you speak to the people in parables?’ He replied, ‘Because the knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them.’”
Matthew 13:10-11
Jesus told stories that reached into everyday life. A father waiting on the porch. A coin under a chair. A seed in dry ground. The parables look simple at first. They are not. Jesus used them to open the heart of God to anyone willing to listen carefully.
Across nine spring Sundays, we read a parable a week. Some are familiar. Some will surprise you. We took them slowly on purpose, to let the stories do what Jesus made them to do, which is to rearrange how we live.
