Trail Life USA is the national Christian alternative to traditional scouting. New Hope hosts Trail Life Troop CA-4620, one of two separate troops on our campus that share the CA-4620 number.

What it is

Boys in nature, Scripture on the trail.

Trail Life USA describes itself as a Church-Based, Christ-Centered, Boy-Focused mentoring and discipleship journey that speaks to the heart of a boy.

Trained men leading boys. Every weekly meeting puts boys in front of vetted adult mentors who model the kind of integrity, honor, and quiet courage Trail Life wants them to catch.
Real-world skills over screens. Camping, hiking, fishing, archery, canoeing, navigation, fire craft. The kind of week a boy remembers and a parent notices.
Faith-anchored advancement. Awards aren't handed out for showing up. Boys earn physical, mental, and spiritual challenges that are explicitly tied to a biblical character framework.
Big brothers built into the structure. High schoolers lead patrols, plan campouts, and teach the younger Trailmen, so leadership gets practiced and not just preached.

At New Hope, Troop CA-4620 meets on a weeknight at the Clovis campus. Knot work, first aid, navigation, hikes, campouts, service projects, character teaching, week in, week out.

Outdoor skills built up over years.

Hikes, campouts, fire craft, navigation, service projects. The kind of week the boys remember and the parents notice.

02 · Character

Christ-centered formation.

Every advancement is shaped by Scripture. Boys learn the practice of integrity, honor, and quiet courage.

03 · Leadership

Older boys guiding younger.

High schoolers lead patrols, plan campouts, and teach the younger Trailmen. The structure is built so leadership is practiced.

The sister troop

Meets the same evening as American Heritage Girls.

AHG Troop CA-4620.

A separate troop with its own leadership, charter, and rooms, meeting the same evening as Trail Life so families with both boys and girls can drop everyone off in one trip. The two troops share the CA-4620 number by NH's choice; everything else is independent.
