Choose one hour this week with the phone in another room. Not the whole day, one hour, at the same time if you can, so the week has a shape to it.

Six Sundays on slowing down, and on the pace Jesus kept while everyone around him hurried.
A week with room left in it
You can get through an entire day at full speed and not remember one minute of it. The calendar filled up, the phone kept buzzing, and somewhere in there was a person you meant to call and a quiet you never found.
For six Sundays this fall we slow the whole thing down and look at how Jesus lived. The pauses he took. The interruptions he welcomed. The pace he kept while the crowd pressed in and everybody wanted something from him.
Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.

Start before the series does
None of these needs a Sunday to begin. Pick one this week, and the first message lands on a life that already made a little room.
Say one no
Look at next week and find one good thing you agreed to without having room for it. Say no to that one. Good things are the hardest to cut, which is rather the point.
Leave the edge
Stop filling the calendar out to the last square. Leave one evening open on purpose, then wait and see who ends up standing in it.
