Four weeks with the runaway prophet, and the God who will not let him go.
Jonah ran. He boarded a ship going the opposite direction, was swallowed by the sea and a great fish, and still God didn't give up on him. The book is short, but its picture of mercy is enormous.
Across four Sundays in April we followed Jonah from the storm to Nineveh and into the uncomfortable question the story leaves us with, whether our hearts are as wide as the grace we have received.

Chapter 1
Why would a prophet run in the opposite direction? This first message in the Jonah series reads chapter one as a downward spiral and asks what it takes to hit bottom. Working from Jonah 1:1-17 and the sign of Jonah in Matthew 12:38-41. Taught by Pastor Tim Rolen.

God Meets Us Where We Are
Jonah prays from inside the fish, quoting the Psalms from memory, and never once confesses what he did. This message reads Jonah 2:1-10 twice, first at face value and then closely, and asks what an honest return to God actually looks like. Taught by Pastor Kyle Relph.

Can you come back to God after running as far as you can go? Jonah 3 answers with a prophet handed the same command a second time and a city that repents. This message also walks the steps of repentance in Psalm 51:1-15. Taught by Pastor Mark Addis.
