Most of us learned to pray a long time ago, and many of us have never really moved past asking God for the things we need. Over four Sundays in July 2023, this series opened up the rich variety of prayer, the postures that shape it, and the pattern Jesus himself gave us. It began with the many forms prayer can take and why each one matters, then turned to Jesus' teaching in Matthew 6 about how we show up before God.
From the warning against praying to be seen to the simple, world changing words of the Lord's Prayer, these messages invite us to trade empty habit for real conversation. Prayer becomes less about getting the words right and more about drawing near to a Father who is listening. This series mattered because it reminded New Hope that the door to God is always open, and that the prayers we are most afraid to pray may be the ones he most wants to hear.
