You were never meant to live the Christian life in your own strength.
Most of us have heard the name but couldn't explain who the Holy Spirit is or why that matters. Over four messages in early 2023, Pastors Mark, Kyle, and Tim walked through the person of the Spirit, the reason we need him, and the kind of change he brings. The series starts with a simple question, what is the Holy Spirit, and moves toward why our own willpower keeps falling short.
From there the focus turns to growth. God grows the fruit of the Spirit in us as we lean on him. We can't manufacture it by trying harder. These messages matter because so many of us feel stuck, making the same mistakes and wondering what's missing. The answer is a Person, already given and already at work, and he's the difference between striving and growing.

John 14:15-26
Who is the Holy Spirit, and why does it matter to an ordinary Christian? Pastor Mark Addis opens A Spirit Filled Life by tracing the Spirit from the second verse of Genesis through the judges and David, then into what Jesus promised in John 14:15-26.

John 14:26
Why can't we just do discipleship on our own? Pastor Kyle Relph works through John 14:26 and Galatians 5:22-25 to make the case that the Holy Spirit is not an assistant we call in when we get stuck, but the whole reason any of it works.

Ask a room what the Holy Spirit is and you have already gone wrong, Pastor Tim Rolen says. Not what. Who. He gives the congregation standing permission to correct anyone who gets it wrong, including him.
