Children’s Ministry

 
Nursery
 
    If you love holding babies, we’d love to have you as a volunteer in our church Nursery. Ideal schedule is month on, month off but our nursery is flexible and can accommodate any schedule!
 
Commitment Level: Weekly every other month
Current needs: Sundays 9:15 and/or 10:45 service every other month

Toddler Room
 
    Come play with the little ones from walking to age 3. Volunteers also read stories, serve snack and shower our little ones with love. For those that enjoy teaching, we have Toddler Curriculum available for teaching Bible Stories to our 2 year olds (curriculum training provided). Ideal schedule is month on, month off but our toddler room is flexible and can accommodate any schedule!

Sunday School Teacher
 
    If you enjoy teaching and spending time with children, this is the job for you! Curriculum and training is provided and though teaching experience can be helpful, it is definitely not a requirement! Filling the next generation’s hearts and minds with scripture and biblical truth is one of the most important jobs we have, and your service as a teacher has eternal value beyond what you can imagine! Schedule is month on, month off (one service per Sunday, 9:15 or 10:45am) throughout the year.

Sunday School Substitute Teacher
 
    If you’d like to volunteer as a Sunday School Teacher, but aren’t sure if you can commit to a set schedule, Substitute Teaching is for you! We are always looking for Substitute Teachers to fill in when our regular teachers are ill or unable to teach their class. Schedule is on an as needed basis.

Children’s Worship Leader / Service Opener (Sundays)
 
    This opportunity is for someone who loves music and large group activities. At the start of each service, all of our students join together to do kids worship and listen to a lesson introduction. A worship leader for our kids would lead music (either using our available DVD music program or, for the musically inclined, by playing music for our kids). This person would then introduce the day’s lesson with either a short activity, game, or object lesson and then lead prayer before students head to class. This position would require 20 minutes during the first part of service. Schedule can be flexible, but ideally month on, month off.

Wednesday Night Classroom Volunteers
 
    Wednesday nights at New Hope are lots of fun for our kids! We play games, make snacks, do crafts, and learn important Bible stories at the same time. Teachers and helpers are needed for each activity station. Wednesday night sessions run for 6-8 weeks on a seasonal basis.
 
Commitment Level: Weekly (6-8 weeks)

Wednesday Night Meal Service
 
    Dinner is served for families prior to our Wednesday night sessions each week. Volunteers help serve food and clean up the kitchen and dining area after the meal. Volunteers may also do some cooking or assembly of food for serving.
 
Commitment Level: Weekly (6-8 weeks)

Vacation Bible School (VBS)
 
    Every year, we require dozens of volunteers during our annual summer Vacation Bible School week. VBS needs leaders, activity teachers, supply and snack organizers, set up and clean up helpers, and more! Volunteer sign ups take place in the weeks leading up to our VBS.

Junior High School Ministry

 
Small Group Leader
 
    Develop a meaningful relationship over 2 years with a group of students by inviting students deeper in their faith, discussing life issues, and getting involved in their life.
 
Commitment Level: Weekly
Schedule: 90% of Wednesday nights for 2 years. 6:30-8:30pm
Current needs: Sundays 9:15 and/or 10:45 service every other month

Help create a family atmosphere for students by providing a meal for 20 junior high students.

High School Ministry

 
Small Group Leader
 
    Develop a meaningful relationship over 4 years with a group of students by inviting students deeper in their faith, discussing life issues, and getting involved in their life. Begin with the freshman class and be their leader through their senior year.
 
Commitment Level: Weekly
Current needs: 1 female to commit to a 4 year term. 90% of Monday nights 6:30-9pm

Food Team
 
    Help create a family atmosphere for students by providing food (snacks or meals).
 
Commitment Level: Monthly
Current Needs: 4-6 people to commit to bringing food for 60 teens (not 60 cookies but enough for 60 hungry teens) one Monday night per month at 6:30 pm. If enough volunteers then 2 people would each bring food for 30 teens.

Tech Coach
 
    Develop the feel of the room or event by coaching students to operate the Presentation computer, operating the Soundboard, creating announcement Slides, Background Music playlists, and anything back of house.

Women’s Ministry

 
Quilt Club
 
    These ladies make homemade quilts for a number of outreach ministries. Beginners are welcome. They will teach you! They meet on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of each month.

Heart to Heart Ministry
 
    A wonderful card ministry for those who enjoy encouraging others through handwritten notes. They meet as a group, once per year. The cards are “assigned” on an as needed basis.

Women’s Events
 
    We have three events each year. Spring, Summer, and Fall events. We can always use help in various areas. Planning, decorating, food, serving, and clean up, just to mention a few. If you would like to help out during any of the events, it’s a great way to meet other women at New Hope.

Men’s Ministry

 
Men’s Breakfast
 
    If you can beat some eggs, whip up some pancakes, or sear some sausages, you are just the men we need. The second Saturday of the month is Men’s Breakfast and our cooks provide a crucial service through food prep…no experience necessary but if you happen to be an experienced chef, even better. Doesn’t require an ‘every time’ commitment but once a quarter is preferred.

Man Council
 
    A dedicated group of men who come up with ideas, plan, and execute all of the exciting men’s activities seen around the New Hope campus, as well as other places like Shaver Lake and a shooting range. No weird handshakes to learn, just a willingness to serve our men and plan a range of activities that will help the men in the church grow together through Christ.

Man Camp
 
    Various roles are available for Man Camp in the fall each year: cooking, cleanup, worship, prayer, assisting with tent setup/tear-down, as well as scaring the teenage boys! This is a popular part of New Hope Men’s ministry and it takes many hands to make it go smoothly.

Senior Ministry

 
Program Assistant
 
    Aids with ideas on types of luncheon programs/speakers for monthly Prime Timers (PT) Luncheons. Greets those attending PT Luncheon as they arrive. Introduce visitors to Director of Care Ministries and help them be seated (and meet folks at the table.) Makes pre-made name tags available to all attending PT Luncheon. Identifies visitors with no name tag or regulars with lost name tags and provides temporaries, and submits request for permanent name tag when appropriate. Prints out monthly attendance roster (CCB) and records attendance at each PT Luncheon. Attendance roster to be turned in to Care Ministries Director for data entry in CCB. Brief “administration time” may be needed each month for duties described outside of luncheon.

Worship Team Ministry

 
Singer
 
    Like to sing? We have a microphone in just your size! Our worship singers rotate as needed. 4 mics are placed and positions are filled based on the pool of each part (Soprano, Alto, tenor, & bass). Right now we have 2 Bass singers, 2 Tenor singers, 3 Alto Singers, and 4 Soprano.

Instrument Player
 
    Ok, maybe you want to put those music lessons to work! Our instrument list is: piano, guitar (Electric & Acoustic), bass, drums, sax, & flute. We have 3 acoustic guitar players, 1 electric guitar, 1 piano, 1 bass, 1 flute,1 sax, 1 drummer

Audio/Visual
 
    So maybe you’d rather use your eyes and ears? We have (and need) people who can display song lyrics on the screen. If it’s in your abilities, also creating background graphics and putting together the visual display for Sunday services such as gathering needed video, building lyric lists, etc. (Computer position) No to computers? We also need someone to run the video camera! (Camera position) Ok so you want to use your ears? (Sound board technician) Ok, ok the sound board is a little technical. It’s more than turning the radio up and down but with training you can be the backbone of the department!

Prayer Ministry
 
    Men and women willing to be able available on Sunday mornings for prayer with church attendees when needed. A caring heart and an observant nature will be all you need to be able to provide powerful prayer support for those needing it. You don’t have to be experienced, training can be provided.
 
Commitment Level: Monthly
Current needs: Prayer team members one Sunday per month 7:45-8:00am, 8:45-9:15am, 10:15-10:45am, and/or 12-12:30pm

Ushers/Greeters
 
    Users/Greeters aid in the welcoming of members and guests to our Sunday services as well as the setup, taking of the offering, and closing up.  Generally would serve one Sunday a month, morning or evening.  Many hands would help spread the duties and lessen any burden.

Hospital/Sick Visitors
 
    Our volunteers visit those having surgery and those sick at home. Uplifting spirits and hearts is our goal. Usually 2 to 3 visits per volunteer monthly.

    We provide meals, conversation, and support to those members of our congregation that are mobility challenged to attend service. 2-3 visits per month.

   Our volunteers visit families approximately a week after the Memorial Service of their loved one. We deliver a package of useful items and make sure they know we as a church body are still thinking of them.  1 – 2 deliveries per month per volunteer

Vacation Relief for Office Front Desk
 
    The individual for this position will need to be able to answer calls, take messages, distribute them to necessary individuals; be responsible for picking up mail from mailbox, sorting it, distribute it to staff mailboxes; make copies, fax or scan documents for staff, you may also need to unlock doors for others that come on campus; you will also assist staff as needed.  9am-4pm
