Youth Events
Our secular culture can be devastatingly influential to our children. We need as many opportunities as life can afford to point them in a more positive direction. Summer Camps, Mission Projects and other Retreats prove themselves vital to a students spiritual development. Over the past nine years in youth ministry I have personally witnessed masses of students (on both sides of the railway tracks) make the most important decisions of their lives on these trips. Camps, Missions and retreats provide a safe environment away from distractions where young people can reflect on their character and their identity.
As a youth, I attended these retreats as well. I rededicated my life to Christ at summer Camp 1993. This was a pivotal time for me as my family was struggling in many ways and felt lost. I found myself asking, "Who am I? Where do I belong in this world?" I listened as other tried to tell me the answers were in Jesus but never heard what they were saying until summer camp. I am so grateful for the folks at New Hope Church who paid the fees to help me go.
If your Son or Daughter needs help paying for camp or a mission event please don't allow this to keep them from attending. Contact me at the church office or by email.

30 Hour Famine
http://www.30hourfamine.org/
The 30 hour famine, put simply from the website, is an international youth movement to fight hunger worldwide. Our youth group fasts to raise money for the cause, as well as has a lock-in for everyone participating. We will play games to fight the thought of hunger out of our minds, and bond with everyone who is present for the lock-in. This is one of those trips that you don't want to miss, so keep checking in with Robert to find out absolute times for the event.
