It's Meaning: 1. Your New Life in Christ. Baptism is a testimony that you have been born again.

2. It's a symbolic picture of once being dead in your trespasses & sin and now being a new creation in Christ Jesus.

3. Baptism doesn't make you any more of a Christian than you already are. It is a
public statement about a personal choice.

Our Method:
1. New Hope practices Baptism by Immersion. You will be placed under the water for a brief second. You will be completely wet.

Your Questions:
1. What do I wear?
Answer:
Men & boys: T-shirt & shorts or swim trunks. Please no speed-os.
(Long pants are OK, but they get heavy when wet.)
Women & girls: A heavy T-shirt and shorts over a swim suit is good.
(Modesty is important.)

2. What do I bring?
Answer:
1.) A full change of clothes, including underwear. Remember you get completely wet.
2.) A plastic bag to put wet clothes in. A garbage bag works well.
3.) A towel to dry off.
4.) Necessary items for coming back into service: comb or brush, make-up - if necessary.

3. Where do I go?
Answer:
There will be changing rooms. One for the men and boys and one for
the women & girls. Someone will be available to assist in each room.
The greeter or any of the pastors will be able to direct you where to put your changing bag. We want you to participate in worship before the Baptism, so come into the sanctuary and Pastor will inform you when its time to head to the changing rooms.

4. When do I change?
Answer:
You may come dressed for baptism. Depending on time of year you may choose to wear a warm-up suit over them. Or you may change at the church right before the baptism. There will be time.
