Church planting in Russia and the Odessa Region of Ukraine

Since 1997, Pastor Steve Brown has been affiliated with Slavic Gospel Association in church planting in Russia and the Odessa Region of Ukraine. In addition to church planting, Steve works with the local and national leaders of Russia & Ukraine's UECB (Union of Evangelical Christians-Baptist) to find financial sponsors for pastors, churches, orphanages and church building projects.

When Steve joined the New Hope staff in 1999, the church began supporting the family and ministry of a young pastor in Kovrov, Russia (halfway between Moscow & Nizhniy Novgorod on the map). This vital ministry has continued to grow and preach the Gospel throughout the area thanks to the tireless, obedient efforts of Pastor Pavel Korniechuk, his wife, Tanya and their children.

In Odessa Ukraine, Steve has become part of the family with Pastor Bronislav Zilkovski (right) , the Senior Pastor of the Odessa Region. Since 1999 they have worked together to encourage and train pastors and church leaders, find sponsors for pastors, orphanages and building projects and spread the Gospel throughout southern Ukraine.
